Not very long ago, I was trying to figure out how to make money with the new changes happening in my life.
Finally, I decided to use the knowledge a had about online marketing and start making money online.
So if you want to start your own business but you have no idea what to do, Well, that’s okay because I have a list full of small business ideas to help you figure it out!
I created this blog to share my story and journey toward change and that includes monetizing it and making some extra money.
These ideas I'm sharing with you today can turn into high-profit opportunities if you put some effort into it.
1. Blogging
I started blogging because I wanted to share my journey with someone, as a way to motivate myself into not giving up but there’s no reason you can’t write about whatever you want to write about. You have your OWN voice and perspective and experiences.
It is important to note that blogging does take a while to earn a decent income. It is not a "get rich fast" type of business but if you build a solid foundation and be consistent you can make a lot of money and your blog will keep growing over the years.
When you get a nice amount of people reading your articles it brings in a nice income that can range from 2000$ to 10000$.
I just started blogging but I'm getting some result, many by this time next year I will write an article about how much I made each month since starting.
I'm using Google AdSense for now and this is how much I made from a few weeks of blogging.
2. Sell T-shirts and printed goods
Selling printed products online have never been easier. At the time I'm writing this post there is no excuse to not start selling printed goods online.
The time has changed and now you don't have to print the products yourself, you don't even have to keep an inventory of finished products.
All you have to do is start a shop and link it with one of the apps out there, post your products on social media and they will take care of everything from printing to shipping and customer services.
Even if you don't want to start your own shop you can still sign up with websites like Teespring and Society6 and sell your design on a lot of products one place I really recommend is merch by amazon.
I trayed selling on Teespring and got some excellent results and I'm thinking of expanding this business to other platforms...
This is how much I made by just testing the waters and trying to figure out how print on demand works.
3. Sell on Etsy
Did you know you could make passive income with printables on Etsy?
Printables are so great because you make them ONCE and can make money off of them FOREVER!
you don't know how to make printables? I got you covered, you can check out this blog post where I will show you the easiest way to make printables.
3 advantages of selling on Etsy :
- Listing is only 20 cents, and if you’re starting out you can get 40 free listings.
- the traffic is already there so you don’t have to worry about building traffic while starting out, Etsy has his own customer base so you will get buyers without even lifting a finger.
- if you work full-time you can list new products on the weekends and forget about them for the whole week.
4. Affiliate Marketing
You know how you recommend different products or places for friends and family? Well, now you can get paid for it!
Affiliate Marketing is when you refer someone to a product or service online using a unique link (referral) and if they make a purchase through your link you earn a commission.
Most of it is completely passive and that’s why this makes for a great online business. You can check my blog post about affiliate marketing to know more.
5. Freelance
Freelancing is one of the best ways to earn money because you can work around your own schedule as long as you can meet your deadlines. These are also jobs for the newbies to practice more and perfect their work before moving to bigger projects that can earn them a lot of money.
Your skill-set may be one of the following:
- Virtual Assistant
- Social Media
- Design, Tech
- Pinterest Management
- Copywriting
- web design
- or more!
If you’ve ever had an interest in one of these it’s time to pursue it! If you don’t know-how, that’s okay because you can read my article about freelancing and everything will be good.
6. Tutor
Online tutoring is one of the fastest-growing businesses this year, thanks to the advancements in technology.
It’s an excellent way to make money at home if you have teaching experience or knowledge of a specific subject.
You can even choose what times work best for you.
How do I get started? Check out the best online tutoring jobs.
How much can I make? You can earn from $10 – $80 per hour, it all depends on what and how you teach.
7. Write and sell books
You may think this is difficult and impossible, but let me stop you right there.
Writing a book about something you have knowledge about is not difficult, if you are good at living a healthy lifestyle you can write a book with all your tips and tricks to keep healthy, if your passion is cooking you can simply group a list of recipes add a little twist from your experience and make a book about cooking.
And selling that ebook is now easy, just put it on amazon kindle and they will handle everything from printing to shipping and you have just to publish and wait for sales.
Ebooks can be created in Word, Canva, or InDesign. You don’t need to get too technical with it! I love the idea of ebooks because they are easy to create and whilst they are a lower price point, they are easier to sell.
I think ebooks are the perfect place to start for new bloggers and business owners!
8. stock photography
if you know how to take photos you are set. selling stock photography is one of those businesses that you only need to make some effort at the beginning then sit and wait for results.
It is easiest than you think:
take a lot of photos
sign up with one of these websites
publish your photos there and watch the magic
9. Sell an e-course
another way to create an income for the information that you have to offer others. Again, think about something that you are often helping others with. This could be anything from decorating your home to creating social media strategies and everything in between.
For course creation, a really easy platform to start with is Teachable. They have a free option which is an added bonus when starting out. The other thing I love about Teachable as a student is that all my courses are in the one spot! I’m the worst for losing login details, or actually just forgetting about a course altogether! Creating the content is the part that will take your time. After you’ve chosen your topic, you’ll need to start planning out the course content and modules that you’ll need to create. This might be in the form of text or videos or a combo of them both.
another platform you can use is Udemy.
10. Sell crafts patterns
if you are a crafter and you enjoy crocheting, knitting, sewing, or any kind of craft you can sell the patterns and patrons you have created to other crafters.
Again you can start your own shop, sell on Etsy or sell on craftsy and Ravelry.
Those are the option I know about so if you know any other websites where I can sell my craft plans tell me.
11. Selling graphic design stock
12. Provide graphic design services
designer, you can sell graphic design services in some marketplace such as:
13. Start a YouTube channel
All you need is set up a youtube account, upload videos, and drive traffic to your videos.
There are essentially two primary ways of monetization for your YouTube channel; Google AdSense & affiliate marketing.
For those of you who aren’t shy at being in front of a camera, making good video content and earn money from them might be an excellent route for you to follow.
